Royal Belum – Malaysia's Latest Great Outdoor Adventure

A lot has been told about Royal Belum. It is a state park located within the Belum-Temenggor forest complex. The 130 million years old rainforest complex, believed to be the oldest in the world, is also the largest in Peninsular Malaysia. Located in the Malaysian state of Perak and crosses into Southern Thailand, the Belum-Temenggor is divided into two areas – Belum, located up north right until the Thailand border and Temenggor, at the south of Belum.

I missed two chances of going there earlier so I’m not going to miss this golden opportunity again. The event was a Familiarisation Trip with a difference. 6 celebrities of different professions were invited to this ‘Celebrities meet Orang Asli’ event. Organized by Perak State Park Corporation, the caretaker of Royal Belum Rainforest and supported by NCIA (Northern Corridor Implementation Authority), Perak Tourism and Tourism Malaysia Perak, the whole idea was to promote Royal Belum as a the first choice eco-adventure destination in Malaysia.

The Jahais of Royal Belum came out of their settlements to welcome us.
